My Radio Show
Serene FM(Doncaster)Meditation and Nature
Proposal
My Radio Show will focus on creating a calm and natural environment for everyone who listens. It will help listeners soothe stress and keep in touch with wildlife, as well as giving tips and ways of meditation. Ideas for my radio show include:
- Call-in with listeners and hear their ways of remining calm under pressure.
- Calming music with atmospheric instruments and earthly noises (e.g. bird songs, water running, insect noises)
- Local wildlife reports and recommendations on garden life (mention the garden life magazine itself)
The target audience for my radio advert is quite board as pretty much anyone could listen to it. It could be for babies trying to sleep, adult workers after a stressful day and everyone in between. However, I think most teenagers or children may find my radio show boring, so an older audience is priority. The psychometrics for my audience includes strugglers, the resigned, reformers and mainstreamers as they may need assistance with mental health the most. As for the use and gratification of my radio show, its two main purposes will be to entertain and inform. It will be entertaining because of the sounds and music it provides as well as informative on how the listeners can do their own meditation while teaching them about the nature around them.
My show would air during mornings and evenings with relaxing music playing through the day, and natural white-noises overnight. This is because mornings and evenings are common times when people are going to or going from work and would need to wind down and relax. The overnight noise is great for people trying to sleep and the relaxing music during the day can help with studying and doing work at a calm pace.
Although the radio's jingle with have a consistent tune, it will be created using different music instruments each time, like steel tongue drums or xylophones. These instruments will be needed while recording and count as necessary equipment. Other equipment includes a microphone to speak in, headphones to hear my own audio and an audio processor.
